I think what he means is that it is 'LIMITED'. It is still possible to only have one wheel spinning, while the other wheel does nothing.

An example is if you jack one side of the rear up on a car, and engage drive, the car will not drive off - the wheel up in the air will spin.

Though having a diff rebuilt LSD, it "should" spin both wheels on the surface.

But if you want to do burnouts with both wheels, then you really need either a locker, or get it welded - or a quality LSD rebuild at the least.

How much did it cost you for the rebuild?

1150 the first time, 150 for the 2nd time, as it was supposed to be a FULL rebuild, but the outer shaft seal was leaking. i wasn't impressed, and i won't be going back again!

the thing that you need to remember is that LSD's are controlled by input torque, and relative traction. The springs do sweet f**k all for the LSD apart from setting your initial breakaway. The cones are what influences the LSD, and when more torque is applied, the cones are pushed harder in to the hemisphere, and cause both wheels to spin.

So here is why you spin both on the spot.
You are putting in a s**t load of torque because you are in a low gear. The torque difference between the input and the output is large, and generates a great amount of force on the spider gears, and boom you have a large bite in your LSD and both lock and spin.

And why you only spin one through corners.
Going through corners you will usually be in a higher gear than first, but for s**t and giggles, lets say first so that you compare apples to apples. In first and hooking left, your outside wheel turns more than your inside right?? well if you get the LSD to lock in this instance, it will more closely follow the speed of the outside wheel rather than the inside, and therefore give you a fat black from the inside tyre. Then on top of that, because you are now moving, your force in and out are going to be a lower ratio than when standing still, and then less pressure on the cones due to the spiders not being exerted under as much force, so a higher level of slip.

Having your breakaway set higher will have you sounding cool when you go round car parks and tight corners cause you will squeel most of the time, however lower breakaway points are more benificial on the street, as peak LSD will still be relative to your input torque.

The reason why LSD's stop LSD"ing is because you run out of thrust travel, and your cones no longer bite the hemi when the torque is applied to your spider gears.

End of rant
