I didn't ask your opinion on the morals of Spools did I?

so you dont care if you kill someone just because you want to do better burnouts? nice person you are....

Spools are not a subsitute for power. Line Lockers just avoid excess wear on the brakes.

spools combined with a line locker are one garunteed way of getting both wheels to spin with limited power

saying that a line locker is just to avoid excess wear on your brakes is a s**t excuse, get enough power and you'll be able to turn rubber into smoke on the spot

how old are you anyway? 17? 18?

Does it matter how old i am? 22 if you must know.

One minute you saying don't do burnouts next minute your saying get more power?

Don't judge me.

Kyro_02 i'll keep you posted

no, i'm not saying dont do burnouts

i'm saying dont do illegal and potentially dangerous modifications to your vehicle so you can do better burnouts

i've got no problem with burnouts, but do it responsibly on private property or at organised burnout competitions, dont go doing silly stuff like making illegal and potentially dangerous modifications to your car

instead, learn how to drive it properly, tweak your engine for more power, learn to handle it responsibly, and learn when and how to unleash the beast

any d***head can get line lockers and spools, lay down diesel/oil/bleach/water

why do i ask about your age? granted, i'm not much older than you, but your tome came across as that of ne of the breed of snotty nosed P plater morons who drive and behave like morons, then whinge when the government cracks down on them

and dont judge you? lol dont make me laugh

have you ever been on the scene or watched as someone is killed because of someones stupidity on the road?

No offence, but he hasnt said "I want to do burnouts on the street", only that he wants to mod his car for burnouts. If I was building a car for burnout comps id be putting a spool and line-locker in regardless of how much power the engine had.

but yeah, if your doing this so you can light them up at the traffic light, then stop now before someone gets hurt. Otherwise, have fun :D

i've aknowledged that his ntention may well be for legal burnout competitions and burnouts on private property, but my concern isnt so much where he does burnouts, but the potential effects of the modifications he's planning unless he's building a dedicated burnout car that wont see any time on the street

If your making a track car i dont think you would need to do better burnouts.

If its a burnout car good luck to you but if you cant get a good burnout without a spool and line lockers, well you havent made it powerful enough.

Spools don't make for easier burnouts! It just means that unlike my flogged out LSD it will ALWAYS spin both wheels.

Whats wrong with a Line Locker? Much cheaper than HP mods, and who's to say that more HP isn't MORE dangerous.

lets see..... a line lockers purpose in life is to block off one or more of the brake fluid lines in a car, thereby disabling the brakes

now, bear in mind that s**t happens, and occasionally line lockers fail, or they are inadvertantly left on, switched on, or the wiring fails, triggering the line locker in its "on" state.....

dunno about you, but i reckon that sounds just a little dangerous

yes, more HP is dangerous, why do you think i suggested you learn how to drive and how to handle/control the power first?

spools can both aid and restrict burnouts, they ensure both wheels are spinning, but they also increase the power you need to break traction

yep, line lockers add a point of failure to the brake system, and in fact many mechanics wont even install them.

As for spools being a good or bad thing, whats the alternative for a burnout car - rebuilding LSD's every few months or spending 10X as much in parts to get a locker. My mate has a spooled 9" and line locker in his 502ci monaro - you guys going to tell me he just needs more power?

A spool won't increase the power i need, I can allready spin both wheels easily. This is why my LSD is flogged out.

Are you finished interceptor? Thanks heaps for all your help. ;)

if you can spin both wheels easily...... why do you need a spool?

The same reason why anyone who does burnouts wants a spool - LSD's dont last long when threashed and open wheeler burnouts are far from impressive.

the way i read his comment "I can allready spin both wheels easily. This is why my LSD is flogged out" means that even with a f**k LSD, he can still smoke'em both......

anyway, i just think its a shame so many people knowingly, willingly and carelessly break the law and endanger peoples just so they can have a little fun

you want a killer burnout car? build one specifically for burnouts
