haha hence why i don't deal with monroe either! I just got some KYB lowered shocks and dobinsons springs for a nice 2" drop! I'm putting them on tomorrow!

thats why you dont use cheap s**t shocks in anything other then a stock setup. not really monroes fault, they are not the one who used the shocks in the wrong situation

Its my opinion that Monroe are indeed at fault.
Monroe unfortunately recommend that the GT Gas products are suitable for either standard or low applications (to approx -30mm) together with a 3 year warranty. Given may peoples experiences, this is a poor recommendation.

did they say anyting about about using them with a stiffer spring rate?

the hight issue is only one of shaft length, it was the stiffer spring giving them a belting that made them fail

No, they didn't say anything about the spring rate.
I did mention Kings by name and the spring type
I am using as the "low" type.
I agree that the shocks probably didn't cope well as you have
mentioned, but I still think Monroe should be aware of this.

I guess we'll see how it all washes up when the supplier gets
back to me with a yay or nay on the refund.

all you can do is ask, and let them know the shock can cope with the spring rate. hopefully they catch on and stop recomending them for that fitment

lol this doesnt sound promising as im replacing my rooted standard shocks with Monroe GT gas tomorrow, and also am running "low" springs.

Well, it only took about 4 months, but today I was
given a full refund on the dud struts....

WOO HOO
