back in the late 80's we were fitting camber/castor kits to brand spanking new ea's so there is no rule of thumb. it's sumthing i would recommend to anyone anyway. it gives you the ability to be 100% spot on, not just close.

I did mine myself, apart from wheel alignment, it cost about $800 all up.

Are you sure they're quoting for your car and not someone elses car? Panhard Rods are for Commodores. Falcons have Watts linkages....

This is what concerns me. I am paranoid about being ripped off I have to tell ya. I trust anybody with my car 8-)

it is pedders afterall mate, they are the experts in the field of ripoff merchants. You could take a brand new car in there and will say you need this and that and you'll leave with a rather sore sphincter at the end of it. Thats my view of it anyway. My boss did work there for a very short period in the early 90's and i've heard a few bad stories about them.

depends which pedders you go to aswell. There all different and owned by different people. I was asking about sway bars for my car and he was saying dont worry about getting the pedders ones they are only 2mm different and you wont notice it. He gave me a few names and numbers to get good deals with wheels an tyres aswell, so i guess its just upto who its owned by and if they are honest and not trying to rip you off.

Have prices gone up in the suspension business or something? I just got a quote for 4 x KYB AGX and a set of King Springs for my car...$1510 for the lot supplied and that's with a saving of $230...

phong =P~

holy sheezus!! i got kyb shcokers in the back, boge in the front, whiteline springs (much better than kings imo) and whiteline front and rear non adjustable swaybars for about $200 less than that!!

admittedly about 2.5 years ago, but goodness me. i'm glad i sucked it up and did it when i did!!

Kit, that seems damn excessive. you can get a whole nolathane bush kit from top to toe for the falcs for ~$600 off the net brand spankers. dunno how much fitting on one of them would be worth.

Thats ok I payed $300 for my XF ute and the steering was up to s**t and made me drive all over the road so went for a $14 safty check to and I got a bill for $4500 to fix everything even tho i changed the shocks and other stuff before hand, so went saw my mate who has an Auto shop and got the frontend parts that I needed and all up costed just over $700 and thats someone putting the parts in for me and its fine now.

Pedders only good for the Safty Check other then that they wont be doing my work or getthing them to supply parts either

Isn't a complete front and rear bush overhaul kit from Nolathane (which IMO is a better product) available for about $600-$700? I'd check that out first.

I got a quote from pedders about a year ago for low springs and new shocks all round. They quoted about 1300 from memory. Then i went to wilkinsons in Bayswater and got it done for around 800.

A lot of money isn't it. I was under the impression that if you
didn't have lowered suspension, and you have stock rims that you didn't
need a Caster/Camber kit.

Is all this really needed?

Go to a mob that sell SuperPro suspension kits. They're way better quality bushes than Nolathane & Pedders put together.
I have used both Nolathane and Pedders bushes and have found them to turn to powder. The Pedders heavy duty rubber bushes turn to mush, and they were on the upper trailing arms and no they didn't get oil on them, it was really odd.
