hi all is it normal for the diff in my xr8 el to make a winding noise only when turning left or right, but is quite when driving straight????

get it serviced they will either change the oil and adjust it or say she is f**k

yeah i pretty sure its ur hand or park brake thats doing that noise only because my does the same think aswell but mostly when turning left. just check ur park brake cable isnt starting to thread itself.

Sounds to me like your wheel bearings are noisey in the rear.A good way to tell which one is swerve left to right up a clear street,if you swerve to your right and its noisey or whinning its the left one that needs to be replaced and if you swerve the other way to your left and it noisey/whinning then its the right one that needs to be replaced.If you can hear a whinning noise driving in a straight line its the diff,but if your only hear it when you turn and its coming from the diff/rear of car then its the wheel bearings.Give it a try.Hope it helps
