Hi guys, I have an EF S2 ex-chaser, and I want to improve the handling.

Can anyone tell me what I can expect this car to have, over standard XR8 and over a standard model falcon?

Also, what are the best modifications for improving the handling on these models?

Cheers

There is no difference mate, just plain old XR suspension.

Search suspension, there is shed loads of topics on what to do.

I have the same car, I went for king SLs in the front, EHDSL in the rear, with Ultima shocks (they are shorter) ride is perfect, no bottoming on the stops etc even with a fully loaded trailer and boot, although I have to watch out for speed bumps and wallows in hte road now, I also put a set of the aftermarket nolathane bushed rear control arms in to take out walking feeling they get, and replaced the camber kit they already have with a nolathane bushed version.

Sounds good mate, did it improve the handling drastically?

If you've still got the original OPT20 suspension in there I wouldn't be surprised if it handled like a bucket of s**t- the suspension would be over 10 years old by now :)

King springs are always great and can be picked up for a good price. Ultima shocks are great value, or if you're looking to spend a little more you can't go past Koni

damn straight, it improved it stacks, it used to handle like a boat, now it's tighter/sharper than I ever remember it being, looks tougher, yet is still practical, I did a bit of looking around before settling on the combo, and reckon I got reasonable bang (or is that less bounce) for my buck.

replace the the shocks and springs, do the upper and lower rear control arms while your at it, wouldn't hurt to have a look at the front end bushes as well, I kept the the rubber bushings on all compression areas (top and bottom of shocks etc) and nolathane/polyurethane on the the other areas. worked a treat.
