I have been assured by many people that there is no such part. It sounds like something that a dealership was making themselves but was never an 'official' part.

(btw - turn your swear word filter off ya skirt)

Like everyone else here I've had lots of dramas with pedal boxes bending/breaking, so far no issues with the firewall, but after the clutch cable tore thru the fire wall on my mates EB, I've welded a strenghtening plate around the cable hole and dropped a big washer on the cable. These two mods are mandatory in my opinion and once done the whole thing will be rock solid, take the time to strenghten and get it right first time and save time and hassles down the track.

i have 2 wrecks here, would it be worth cutting that section out and welding in on to give it double thickness? or just make up a small plate like in that pic?

i have plenty of roof metal ;) lol

I have just got my pedal box from an EF and had been planning to strengthen it, but to my surprise it looks to be already done from factory. Should I add additional strengthening to it or will it never break?
That looks like a pre EF/EL pedalbox - brake switch in foreground, clutch switch in the background. I take it that it actually has come out of an EF (it's already been modified to suit)?? I also assume that you'll use the earlier type brake switch ??
I've had a look at my XH pedalbox (it's never been modified) - the strengthening plate is there as per yours, except it continues around the 90 deg bend (you can see that part in Nicks pics). All it has is a date stamped on it.
I would also fit a brand new clutch cable over a second hand one.

Thanks Snap it is out of an EF and yes I will be installing a new clutch cable. Can you explain the earlier type Brake switch. I had noticed the brackets for the switch and there is a switch that screws into the brake bracket already as seen in the first picture of this thread. I could not work out what is was used for, is this the one you are referring to? If so can I use that as the brake switch directly or does iy require a relay?

Yeah good call.

Yeah, that's the one. You can use it as your brake light switch in lieu of the EF/EL item which tends to fail often - I haven't heard of too many of the EA-ED ones failing. It looks like all the mounting hardware (clips, etc)is already on the brake pedal, so it should connect up to the brake booster rod okay. The switch will need a linking loom, e.g. couple of wires spliced with spade terminals to plug into the existing EF/EL brake switch plug - just in case you decide to go back to the EF/EL switch at a later stage.
No need for a relay, just adjust the switch to suit.

So is the one I have an EA one do you think or is it perhaps a Ute version of the EF? If so am I going to have trouble fitting it as there are supposed to be differences between the EA and EF pedal boxes? I might go buy the clutch pivot shaft any way just incase I need to use my Auto pedal box, its only $9.

It certainly looks like an EA-ED one - that's why I asked whether it was already modified as you said it was fitted to an EF.

IIRC the threads I've seen have said the holes around the steering column don't match up, so some need elongating and/or redrilling. Someone will no doubt clarify this.

That's handy info, I'll get one myself.

Yeah, mine's on it's way.
Modding an auto pedal box wouldn't be too difficult, add the clutch pivot pin, weld it in, strengthen behind it with some decent strap welded on, and add a bracket for the clutch switch.
The bump stop is absent, but the way the clutch pedal adjustment is set up, you'll find it isn't needed.
Don't know if you can mod the auto brake pedal by reducing the pad support - perhaps the bend in the arm may need to be lessened too.

Mal Wood pin mod information says just remove one side of the pedal face on the Auto brake pedal to make it a manual or just swap over the pedal you already have.
