Ok since I cant find anything solid about this topic I thought I may as well start a thread on this.

Just want to know the Pros and cons RDA and DBA.

Also their Standard rotors vs their slotted rotors.

Has anyone had any problems with their rotors standard or slotted.

And also what are the best if your are using slotted, especially of you want to avoid warping.

sorry I meant what are the best pads if you have slotted rotors?

The reason I'm asking these questions is because I think that my rotors may need changing soon and I would like to upgrade them a little.

I have standard rotors on my EL-XR6 atm and I have no problems with them whatsoever.

I know that EL's are notorious for warped rotors and I would like to avoid this annoying problem when I change my brakes.

After doing some reading online, there are many people that have solved their warping problems by using slotted rotors. However some people, after changing to slotted rotors are still experiencing the same problem. This I know has something to do with their pads and the way in which they brake.

So I guess my main questions are.
RDA or DBA, standard or slotted, and what are the best pads to use? To avoid warped discs.

Yeah I have seen that sticky, but there is alot of confusion about what are really the best combo.

I know that slotted will provide better stopping, however I dont want better stopping if my whole car is going to shudder due to warped discs.

ok, i have had that issue and it was due to the wrong pads used with slotted rotors..
another sticky..

anyway im currently running rda slotted rotors all round, at first they were ok but after time they had that warped feeling, after reading the above thread i realised that was the exact problem i was having, so a quick skim of the rotors and i replaced the bendix ct's with bendix h/d and ive had them pretty damn hot a few times and no warping as yet..

So basically, If I am using slotted rotors I should be using a higher grade (harder) pad along with it. Am I correct?

I am running ferodo formulas on mine with DBA slotteds. dot 5 fluid behing the pads. solid all round, no sign of warping, I am yet to have it on the track, but some hard runs with heavy breaking have seen them perform well.

I got a set of RDA slotted rotors from a site sponsor with free rda pads. Beat the hell out of them & they lasted fine. by beaten, I mean at one point smelling like the pads were going to catch fire. rotors looked fine a few days later, no glazing at all. pads were fine too.

I run DBA slotted all round with Bendix Ultimate pads. They bite well...however lots of brake dusts and heavy wear on the rotors compared to normal. My last set lasted me 2 years or so, but I still believe they are still in good nick...just need the edge machined to make it level, new pads and I am sure they will last me another year or so. In saying that, I don't drive hard every day, but the brakes do get a work out on spirited driving.

Rotors warping depends on your driving style. Drive it like you stole it and brake last minute all the time might see you warp the disks faster.

I put the ultimates on & didnt have an issue for 18 months or so. Turns out the calliper slides stuck & the brakes started to warp. dont know what ive got in there now. maybe generic bendix's?
