hey all, as stated in my other thread im pulling the diff apart to get the gears out, but one of the axels is stuck, i got one side out with no problems but i have tried to get the other side out with no luck, i have tried jimmy bars (aka crowbar) mallets and all sorts but it just wont budge...

anyone got a trick or two in getting them out? or is it possible to wedge the gears out with one side still stuck inside

Yep that is the easiest way and most recommended way to go about it, so easy we did that in a car park with minimal tools on a mates torana.

also inspect the axle splines when you do get it out, if they are not dead straight, swap that axle for another, its probably got a bit of a twist in it.

well i got it... i tried how everyone said.. didnt work :@

so i got angry, stood it on the wheel and lifted the diff up and still nothing...

in the end i lay'd it on the ground and done a running karate kick to it (while holding on to the swing set so i didnt end up on my head) and it got it off... it just needed 80kg of persuasion hahaha. nothing like some karate to start off your day...

now nest question. how do i undo the shaft from the drive shaft to the back of the diff... i see there is a bolt but there is now nothing to stop it from spinning... maybe a long screwdriver through the hole... i dunno

1: rattle gun
