hey guys,
i have been doing some reading and as most of you probably know, the locating point on the diff for the watts link was lowered 20mm between the EF and EL.
My question is; can you fit the diff housing from an EL straight onto an EF. and will it help the handling by any great margin.

Im sort of sick and tired of having to slow down excessively in the wet because the car feels like going round rounabouts sideways, would the roll centre adjustment aid in fixing this?

Just do it and come back and tell us how good it feels......lol

Basically, it will stop the feeling that the car pivots on the front wheel and lifts in the bum when you corner. If you lower your car it gets worse too. The arms on the watts link should run fairly parallel to the axle tubes in a perfect world.

IIRC the diff cover from an EL will fit any borg warner/BTR78 diff

Just one question ....

Are the Watts Link locating arms on the EL (and EF XR series ...) the same length as the arms on the EA-ED series?

Also, how do these lengths relate to the Watts Link dimensions of the XE-XF?

Cheers

Hi 347stroker,

Not wanting to railroad the original post ... But I have a few Ford plans on the boil ... ( or more accuratley cold-water-in-a-pot ready to boil ..)

1. Is to improve my ED V8 Futura. Handling is one area and I had already looked into this Watts link arrangement .. I will go ahead with it now ..

2 & 3. Is an XF and an XE (With an XD front .. it looks better) Both of which I think will now get the EL Watts Link swap .... I have all these other parts gathering dust in the Garage ... now I am shopping for EL watts Link BW78 diff covers! times 3 thanks!

Cheers
