Hi guys still trying to work out my suspension. I have been ringing around today and just thought I would post up the legal measurement for lowered suspension in South Australia for the EL XR8.

In SA they have the 100mm rule. So nothing can be closer to the ground then this excluding brakes etc. But the thing that is s**t in SA is that they have what is called the eyebrow measurement. This is the measurement taken from the centre of the wheel vertically up to the guard. In SA this measurement for the EL XR8 is 337mm both on the front and the rear. So according to this King Spring Superlows will be legal (if they don't sag) as King Springs say that the measurement for superlows will be 340mm front and rear. I also have the measurements for Whiteline springs. Their control springs are 360 front and rear and their flatout springs are 350 front and rear so they should both be legal as well.

Anyway I just thought I would post the legal heights incase anyone else wanted to know it.

sounds about right to me although when i took my eb through regency (bought it in nsw) they didn't take to much notice of the 100mm clearance rule. i got done for the 'eyebrow' one though. they told me 335mm so pretty much same as you. i also questioned why its same for front and rear when guard appears lower at the rear but they couldn't give an answer.

Thats a bit weird because i rang around and also went down to the place where they take your car over the pit and they said eyebrow height on a 6 was 355 on front and 345 on rear. Why would an 8 be allowed to go lower.

Definately forget the 100mm rule. Anything with struts is eyebrow height.

6cyl ED is 335mm all round as well
