take the diagrams and a few intructions to your local Jaycar or other electronics shop, they'll make it for you for like $25

Guys.. make sure you add an on/off switch to your kits.. I decided to omit that part for simplicity's sake... and well... it's wet weather.. those hard shifts in the wet are.. well... fun but dangerous hahaahaha

im in the process of making a shift kit for my 4.0l EF but want to have it adjustable,i've just got the parts i hopefully need from jaycar but want to be sure i've got it right before i start cutting ECU wires.

i've added a quick diagram of how i plan to do it but want to be sure i've changed the right resistor for a pot.

thanks

Has anyone tried peyote's method yet (full post on page 14)and if so, does it work?
What happens when its turned off? does adjusting the pot make any difference? Thanks..Mick..

Done it earlier today..gotta say I'm happy with the adjustable version..was kicking in a little too hard for me but after i backed off the potentiometer its still a quick change but not so boot in the back hard!!!..
Best Mod under $25.00 I have ever come across
($10.00 for the pot, $1.50 for resisitor, $4.00 for the switch, $2.40 for a box,$3.60 for cable ) all from Jaycar..

A big THANK YOU to the guys that posted the info on how to do this.. :D

EA-ED guys who have done this mod, what are the best resistors to use? Or is it safe to use the same as for the EF/EL?

I've replaced the 5.6 with a 5 potensiohmetre (or whatever) and i had a bit of a think about it and i think if i have 0 resistance on it, it might blow the a** out of my trany. whats the way to do the adjustable one? a diagram would be great.

as well, did anyone figure out what happens when that switch is in the fully off position? eg. limp home?

Lol, i have some electronic parts from school etc and i only needed to buy 4, 5 watt resistors cos at the time the dse didn't have any 10 watters and the 5 watts were 30 cents each, so my total cost was $1.20.. lol i already have the wire, switch and the know how to do it ( i only needed to buy those resistors cos for electronics smaller circuits 5 and 10 watt resistors are not common).. now that was a cheap and effective mod. Thanks dudes.

I went to d**k today and they DONT stock 10W resistors!
But apperantly if you put together two 5W resistors in parrelel, it doubles the wattage, halves the resistance.... they didnt have the exact figures but heres what i have got...

2x 5W 12ohm resistors = 10W6ohms (can i use this in substitute of the 5.6ohms resistor??)

2x 5W 39ohm resistors = 10W19.5ohms (can i use this in substitute of the 18ohm resistor?!)

Other than that im ready to build it all up. thanks!
