I have recently installed a single stage (on/off) shift kit and was wondering if the adjustment must be done with the ignition off.

I've been told that doing it while the car's running makes the computer chuck a wobbly and the shifts suffer as a result.

Opinions?

But is there any benefit from engaging the system with the ignition on or off??
