Location: Melbourne

Hi, about one month ago i had my superlows in my el xr6 compressed another 30mm and ive left the superlows in the front untouched as it sits nicely, so know the car has evened out. BUT know my a** end is suffering i can feel every 5cent peice on the road and the ride so F***ING bumpy its not funny lol. Ive put aside some cash for shockers just wondering if anyone has any advice on which brand model type prices etc. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

I put Ultima Heavy Duty Short Stroke shocks in the back of my EB with S/Low springs. Made for a much more controlled ride. I had Monroe GT's in and they kept bottoming out and felt harsh. The diametre on the Ultima shocks is a lot bigger and they are at least 50m shorter overall than the Monroe.

Highly recommended

As above with the Ultimas. Unfortunately i must have had 3 sets from the same batch that the valving was noisy. The supplier replaced them with Boge shortened shocks, these arent as hard but still good. I like the handling of the ultimas but the niose was annoying.

Shocks on the rear dont determine nor change the height. If on a budget Ultimas are the way to go.

When I got mine in June last year, they were not available on Ebay. I paid $140 for the pair from a specialist suspension shop. They are much cheaper now on Ebay.

Still very happy with them and will use Ultima struts when I replace those.

I got the whole suspension setup for free :D and it consisted of front and rear s/low king springs and came with Boge struts already assembled.

I have no idea on how old they are, but they drive fine at the moment. Last year I drove from Syd to the QLD sunshine coast and back and it all handled the varying road conditions fine.

I dare say they were the standards and not the shortened type.
