Is it easy to install the short shifter through the shifter hole in trans tunnel?

no, your gonna have to drop the rear support mount on the box, get underneath and do it from there, from inside the car you will be able to undo the rear 2 bolts but have to get under to get at the front ones.

or you can do what i did?..
drill 2x20mm holes with a holesaw in the tunnel just above the 2 shifter bolts, then when your finished just plug the holes with grommets... :)

otherwise, as above,,, you need to undo the gearbox x member so the box can drop down a little to access the 2 front holes on the shift...

All done from the drivers seat..
