Hey Guys,

My 93 ED Fairmont is due for a transmission change and I've never done it before.

I'm looking at my max ellery's manual and there is more than 1 gearbox in the system and it doesn't tell me which one is designated to which car...

All I'm aware is that the first of the EA's had a 3 speed Gearbox and the rest where 4 Speed, Yes we are talking automatic. But there are a few more that I was unaware of and that is where I'm stuck.

So, the simple question is, What is the most likely hood transmission to be sitting in my 93 ED Fairmont? Built in September.

Once I find out the answer I can do the rest.

Any of the 4 speed 6cyl ones will bolt up. If it doesnt have a dipstick, then it is from an EF-AU. The v8 ones a different in the input shafts to the motor, also a touque converter from an 8 will not fit

I forgot the word "FLUID" in that post, not a total transmission change, just the fluid.

I've looked under the car and the transmission part number is: 91 DA 7000 BB.
