Hi Guys, had posted this question elsewhere but have not really gotten any comprehensive replies so am asking here.....

Those who have installed the AU S5 Solenoid, could you please advise:-
1. What benefit it provided - i.e. what does it do to the shift, level of happiness with the results.
2. What adjustment is used - e.g. one post elsewhare nominated a twelfth (1/12th) of a turn...is that CW or ACW ?.
Have more/less of a turn been tested ?

Have been talking to a few transm places and they advise changing to a V8 valve body (mine is an ED I6)....big $$

Info would be appreciated.

S5 Solenoid need only be changed if the shift from 1st to 2nd is harsh, during normal acceleration.
Have had to change mine on both the EL and the EA I had previously, no one ever mentioned V8 valve bodies although both shops recommended changing to the V8 extension housing bush.

Thanks madmax,
What I was chasing was info around (I have heard) people replacing a good S5 with an AU S5 . The AU S5 is adjustabe. The AU S5 goes in, is adjusted and the result is a faster shift up 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 but not as harsh as the resistor type shift kits deliver.

Don't know how real this mod is, it has been mentioned on Fodforums.com and Fordforms.com.au and I am trying to get more info.
