Also most T5's have a Steel weight on the bottom of the box too.

What is this steel weight for? I didnt bother trying to find one for my T5 conversion.

Harmonic Resonance.

Highly doubt it'll matter too much, yet Ford installed them for a reason.

chances are you'll have it, just hadn't noticed.

also what model boxes fit in an au?
and do i need a tailshaft

ive been told recently that the AU t5 is different from the E series one, in two main ways. the AU use tremec t5, and e series use borg warner t5s. The au tremec is also 40mm longer than a BW, and the shifter is slightly back further.

In an AU you pretty much need an au gearbox im afraid. looking at the same thing myself.

yes b series t5's are hydraulic, not cable clutch.

You can use either an AU T5 or use the BA T5 and convert to hydraulic clutch, but personally, i would use a T56

The $$$$ aren't too bad, in an AU, modify pedal box to fit BA pedal, put T56 in using BA flywheel, use T3 manual tailshaft, make speedo work, done
