Hello All.

As some of you may know, I have been planning to convert my auto EL into a manual EL. But, I just have a few more questions before I start buying the gear.

Firstly, I have heard that all T5's will bolt onto the back of the EL I6. So basically, For exapmle, An EB T5 Will bolt straight up. True Or False??

If this is true, Is there any major differences between the boxes. Like, were any of them built with problems or were they all built the same. It dosent matter about the age as basically, the box will be purchased and then dropped of to get re-conditioned.

Also, Who makes a mean flywheel. I want to put in a really nice, Light weight racing flywheel. Does any one know of any really good ones? I have heard that Mal Wood makes a nice one but have never seen one.

Any comments would be helpful

Thanks Guys and Gals

Im no expert in the matter, as i got a factory manual. But i believe that any i6 t5 will bolt up to any i6. Just the ratios are a bit different between the models.

The boxes were improved continously througout their life.
Significant changes were made after EA- (early)EB to improve durability.
EF-EL may have gotten revised syncro's.

V8 boxes had stronger internals and different gear ratio's but wont bolt up to 6's without different input shaft.

XR6 turbo boxes were the strongest but will need modification to fit a pre-BA car. (removal/conversion of clutch mechanism and different input shaft).
