have a manual conversion in the works and need to know if there are any common problems with the T5 manuals. My motor is stock so power hansling wont be a drama, the most mods my car can expect is mild cam and extractors......

and is there an alternative box i could use (6 spd maybe???) coz ive heard some of the jap boxes last ages and can take quite a beating..... bearing in mind cost is a factor so expensive alternatives are out of the question...

any help appreciated...

other common problems is lots of skids.
i found that putting a cam in and converting to a T5 with a 3500 lbs clutch really got me tempted to do skids..

spinning in 4th gear without the aid of the Brake (common in Auto's pulling a skid) was pure love.

good luck with the conversion
i just sold the T5 out of my car for $100
only problem was 3rd gear syncro coz it really anoys me and its loud when it grinds and i hate ppl thinking i cant drive :S

got another T5 in the shed to replace it tho.. so its all good.

I'm sorry, spinning in 4th gear? Is that what you just wrote? What sort of motor and gearing do you have? An 8.3 litre V10 Viper motor with 4.11 diff gears?
