Hi all,

I have just completed a T5 manual conversion in an AU (NU) Fairlane. The auto gave up and so I had to either re-do it or use the T5 I had lying around.

The box used was from an EL XR6 purchased of Ebay. I am currently preparing a doc for those who want to do the same conversion.

The results are fantastic. The T5 / VCT combo brings out the power that was hidden behind the Auto. Will never go back to the Auto now.

More to follow shortly.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay in bringing the doc. Anyway, it is finally here. If you need any more info, please let me know.

Nicely done mate. Very unique car now.
Do you have any pics of the final product?

Awesome work mate! Do you find that the shifter being 2"further forward than normal is an issue?

Do you have any pics of how it lines up in the console?

Thanks,

Justin.

Hi all,
Private9,
If you read my doc, there is a drawing for a small plate that needs to be made that moves tyhe shifter about 2 inches back again. Hence there is no difference and it actually sits in the centre of the console hole.

cgglasson,
I will try get some pictures on the weekend.

Thanks for the intrest. I just hope the doc gives enough info for others wanting to do the same conversion.
