is there any difference in the 2? as i've only had auto 'coons and a mates just smashed his uni to bits in an XG 'S' MANUAL UTE he needs to replace it ASAP and am wondering if the auto is a suitable replacement,

Yes, it will fit.

Most people who do a T5 conversion use the Auto Tailshaft.

It should be noted that they are different. The Manual one has a vibration dampener on the transmission yoke.

And also, you will need to check if the ute uses the longer tailshaft out of the wagon and fairlane. The Sedan ones are shorter.
