the quote included the whole shebang, front and rear, with the sport ryder set up. so were all clear, i'll be spending around the $10K, most of which is going into ensuring i dont wind up blowing the engine, screwing the transmittion or any other kind of ill fated concept. this would include being stupid enough to destroy what is costing me so bloody much to make in the first place. when i asked for a "cheaper" option, i meant just that, not less reliable, or lower quality, simply something the may not burn a hole in my pocket. if $1150 is a good price then whoop de doo, i'll take it, if not, i dont take pleasure in throwing away hard earned cash.

Take it to Off Topic.

Vic, I do indeed have something valuable to contribute. The author wanted something cheaper and since I do not know of any workshops that will do a good job cheaper, I advised that cutting springs is the wrong choice. It appears you are implying that that cutting springs is a safe and responsible thing to do while I think I very clearly and graphically spelled it out that its a stupid and dangerous thing to do.

He's welcome to post those pictures in the appropriate Off Topic / Flaming section.

Ahhh it was the pictures that were the problem.

Well I apologise about giving good advice in a humerous way. I shall assure you I will never again give advice in a method that isn't entirely drab and boring :)

He didn't ask about cutting springs. You brought that into the thread yourself. Don't pretend that this was the question. You want to take this further then take it to Off Topic or Flaming.

Without intending on causing a s**t, please re-read my post above. A cheaper option is to cut springs. It wasn't mentioned, no. It is a cheaper option. 1 + 1 = ??

Besides, it made sense to other people who have technical knowledge AND a sense of humour.

Edit - who gives a rats a***. My advice is correct and if YOU have nothing valuable to contribute to a thread then please STFU.

My post > your post.

Oh cutting springs is definetly dodgy no doubt about it. But my response was not about the spring cutting, it was to point out that the car crash photo was unecessary in this tech section and that he could post his piccies in the Off Topic / Flaming section.
