Depends on what you want man, alot of guys on here straight up fit 4:11's and go nuts, some guys have 3:7's, it depends on whether you want the most accel out of it compared to revs at 100, or the other way round. You could also opt for the 3:45 XR ratio.

hey, for street, you'll find a good improvement would be to go for 3:45s.

for strip, definitely 4:11s

for a bit of both, go the 3.7-3.9s.

you just need to find someone competent enough to fit the gears properly.

On your diff there should be a tag telling you what your diff is eg Lsd & the ratio.
I just bought a diff out of an eb it is a 3.45 Lsd as need to replace my Lsd as its stuffed.
Dave.

3 27 I think is your Ratio
Your diff will be a borgwarna standard ford.
Dave.

I dont think you will notice much of an improvement going to a 3.45 ratio over a 3.27. I would suggest a 3.7 ratio which is still quite streetable.

I recommend getting a diff specialist to supply and fit your diff gears. They know the tolerances and what is needed to make things work. They can also shim up your limited slip tightly so its almost like a locked diff

Might need to speak to someone who is in your state who knows of a recommended fitter.

Minimum diff ratio in my opinion behind an eseries auto is 3.73. This ratio is very streetable and motor will only rev at 2100rpm @ 100kph which is nothing to worry about. 3.45's behind the auto is a crap upgrade and not worth the money..... cause when you have such a s**t 1st gear ratio (2.39) you need to go very short diff ratio to help things move along.

If you want ideal diff gears for the 1/4 mile behind an auto, then something like 4.5 diff ratio would be ideal, but im not sure if anything exists in that ratio, so 4.11's would be the next best option

you know I agree with you there. I have 3.45 ratio on mine, and I cant even feel the difference till I hit about 40kph. A set of 4.44 is the lowest ratio I have seen, but that was on a 9in diff.

If I was to spend more money on the diff for me, I would go 3.7 or 3.9s.

yeah ive got 3.73's and while it does make it alot more 'zippy' around town than the stock 3.23 ratio, its still pretty lame...... so the car is in the workshop right now getting 4.11 lsd fitted

Also worked out it should be better for the 1/4 mile because it will be crossing the line near the top of 3rd gear, as opposed to the lower revs of 3rd with taller gears like 3.7, 3.45's etc.

Only downside of the 4.11's is the tailshaft will see the same stresses @ 141kph, as it would have @ 180kph with stock 3.23 diff gears.... so i will be fitting new uni's, getting tailshaft balanced, and a tailshaft loop fitted as soon as i can
