I need to balance my tailshaft in my ute (XE).

Cheers.

just pulled out the tailshaft, and the uni joint roller bearings were pretty much rooted.
grains of sugar had more thickness than the rollers. it looks like melted cheese.
thank f**k i wasnt' gonna drive it tomorrow, it wouldn't have lasted long.

FYI. I got my old tailshaft from Brisbane Driveline something... (they had a pink sticker on the tailshaft)

The "Brand New" shaft they sold me, was a 2nd hand one, they had heated with an oxy torch to straighten, and then painted.

It ripped in 2 peices. Caused a lot of damage to my car.

I now have a custom made 2 peice from Mal Wood Automotive.

xr8chic - that's dodgy, did you pursue them?
i've left it with driveline services.
a good mate of mine did his a little while back and was real happy with it.

off topic a bit: - whats it worth to get a loop for the tailshaft?

If the drive shaft has imbalance it doesnt shake unless the runout is say over 5mm. They will hum and normally over 80 km/h.
Your shaft probarbly wont need to be balanced after the UJ has been replaced.

Tail shaft looks are about $50 ish from rare spares.

I tried to speak to the dodgy Brisbane Driveline place about the tailshaft, but I couldnt prove the shaft that broke was there one (even though it had there sticker on it)

The 2 peice tailshaft from Mal Wood - I think it was around the grand mark.

Who installed the middle link/brace for you, or did you do it yourself?
