If anyone is interested in buying parts to install or to make a new computer I would suggest that you keep clear of IJK in Sydney. |

Could've also been a manufacturing fault and somehow got through QC I have never used any other branch but Enfield, even when they were further down the road. I have been a customer for more than 9 years, sad state of affairs. By the look and position of the damage I would say it has been more than likely done when it was packed into the bag. I couldn't see why the manager person was so dogmatic that I did the damage. It's ok though, he WILL be doing something regardless of what he THINKS he can as Fair Trading is now involved. I run a business myself and always try to keep on top of rules and regs covering this sort of thing, I would be only too willing to exchange a drive from a customer especially if it was a customer that had bought thousands of dollars off me. In my daily job we get lots of parts from Ford that are damaged when we get them, even in boxes that have no outside damage. This clown down at IJK is going to learn about this sort of thing the hard way. |

Gee talk about poor customer service. I used to buy from MSY, however I had one bad encounter where my motherboard died within a month. They blamed it on my installation and didn't replace it under warranty...so instead they sent the mobo over to the manufacturer to get it "fixed". It came back 2 months later without the problem fixed, but with more damage. Not wanting to wait another 2 months for the mobo, I just went and bought another brand from another computer store who was happy to help me out as well as give me a discount.

When ever a component fails, by default it has to be RMA'd, the suppliers mandate that all warranty repairs are done this way, since nothing is produced in Australia its all back to backwater Taiwan to be looked at.

Yeah, I've bought gear from them over the years - they were known as Umart IIRC, the QLD ones still are Umart I think - why these guys changed names I don't know. They still run out of the old Enfield RSL ?? IIRC they used to be over toward Ashfield. Touch wood I've never had a hassle with their gear - but I guess was always cautious of these 'warehouse' style operations.

So I have steered clear from MSY unless it's peripherals. This said, I know many people (inc me) that have built systems from there & not had issues. Seen a screen or 2 with dead pixels but nothing major. My next built will be largely sourced OS & mail order as it'll be a big impressive one
