for those comparing ps3 or even 360 to wii, you have to realise ps3 and xbox have their war, they are about crazy games and ful on amazing graphics with brilliant res; Wii goes back to the oldschool gaming style, FUN.
It is not made to take on 360 or PS3, it has goen for the market which is there but isnt wanting to spend huge dollars on powerful gaming consoles, and there is a huge market for it.
I lost count of how many Wii packages I sold toda without even having to compare them to either sony ps3 or the microsoft xbox..

no competition as they are a diff level of console, **** the exp crazy ott graphics, just have fun games.

I forget the figure, but that s**t little PONG game when it 1st came out made an onscene amount of money, as it was fun and different at the time.

couldnt agree more, i played a Wii for the first time at a mates place last night, definately most fun ive had on a console in a while! good for fat kids too...

where u work daniel? i went out to a few places today to buy one and got told to come back in a couple of months. got any left at your work, how much?

thats it, im not taking the shine of ps3 or xbox, as they do what thet are made to do, and do it well.
i work at power house, most stores have them in stock, ring up one of the stores n get a price or jump on www.dse.com.au

I'll probably end up getting them all and a decent TV to play them on. Probably that new Samsung LCD that has 1080p res. True HD.

Plasma's are horrendice for playing games on, ask about the LCD's, the problem is with burn-in, plasmas cant have a static image on them more more than a few minutes without it burning into the scree, so like a HUD on an aciton game or something would f**k with one seriously, so ask before you purchase that LCD. Also the high def tvs have had issues because of image preprocessing such that it delays the presentation of images and the game controls and the game visulisation is out of sync by enough to anoy you. Its all sort of second hand information but I've heard it enough times to be VERY wary about new tvs and high def gaming systems.

Well I played one when it was being promoted at Melbourne Central about a month ago. I must say it was awesome =D...Tennis was so fun to play against mate cause its interactive. Zelda brings back memories...but just this time I got to swing the sword and stab so it was cool. The racing one I watched and I can't believe by just tilting the control left or right while holding it horizontally makes the car turn also...all done with wireless.

While watching the shooting game though...it was much harder to play because the calibration was off so the people who were playing couldn't hit the target...was fun to watch though lol.

from my short 5 minutes on Zelda and Tennis...I must say it was one of the best 10 minutes on a console I have ever experienced. It was like me playing Mario on NES when it first came out...excitement and smiles all round =D.

I was going to buy one but I ran out of money on my amp and amp accessories =( ah wells maybe next time.

phong =P~

theres only one word to describe them. fun.

just good honest fun, i didnt think the graphics were particularly exciting, and the games i played werent really very in depth. that said though, the idea of being more interactive than hitting buttons on a controller is brilliant. after playing 64's and game cubes i was pretty disappointed with nintendos efforts, but this is awesome. rather than try and copy sony and microsoft, they've been innovative and have come up with a good console.

im definately buying one. only problem i can see is that i think it would suck on a smallish television. when i was playing on my mates we were using his projector, so the picture was HUGE. playing on a normal size tv would suck a bit.

Haha, nice one! :p

No I don't think it does, and that would keep the price down a bit as well. But why would you want to play DVDs, most people (hell if they are buying brand new consoles all the time) would have a conventional DVD player anyway. If not, what are they now, $70? Thats less than what it would cost Nintendo to put one in the Wii I'm guessing.

Personally i think the 360 esspecially had way to much of a premature release, i don't think there's enough of a technology gap between the first one and the 2nd one, at least PS3 is making sure that there will be a big gap between generations by the sounds of things. As for the Wii, i haven't played one as yet, the graphics i've seen don't overly impress me, my year-and-half old computer s**t on those graphics. However they do look like they have massive fun factor which is what Nintendo's are renowned for.

The 360 and the PS3 were only released about 12 months between each other theres not much of a technology gap between the 2 systems, theres no really splitting the 2 in specs.
