hey guys, another annoying question sorry.
anyways, im looking at doing a manual conversion on my EL v8 fairmont.
is there any diffrence in pedel box or anything else from 6cyl to 8cyl?
i know the box is diff, but im wondering if the pedel box and the rest is same between 6cyl an 8cyl?
cheers.

I think the pedal box will be the only thing that will change between 6 and 8 cyl. Oh and of course the shifter, shifter boot and shifter knob.

do you mean will NOT change?

The pedal box is the same (between a manual 6 and 8). I recently converted my car from a manual 6 to a manual 8. I am still using the same pedal box, gear boot, shifter and gear knob. The rest (gearbox, clutch, bell housing, clutch cable) are different.

Forgot to mention, there MAY be a difference in the clutch pedal. The one I pulled out of the donor car had 'V8' stamped on it. I was not able too see any difference in the pedal. I am using the 6cyl one in my EL, and it appears to be fine.

Maybe just a ploy to charge more for it because its a V8 part?

Yeah my clutch pedal said V8 on it too, no idea if it is actually stronger. There is a difference between auto I6 and V8 pedal boxes for your info; there is a bracket for the TCM that you will need to remove for the V8 pedal box.

PM me if your interested in a AU3 T5z from a XR8. Stronger box, will require small modification to fit E Series.

V8 pedals are supposedly longer somewhere/somehow to provide a tad more leverage for the heavier clutch.
