okay so at the moment i've got a 5L 99 au mont ghia, with a 4spd auto

thinking about this because its basically the same motor, will it be a direct in/out replacement?
also thinking of going manual, can i just use the box/pedalbox and other stuff needed from an xr8?

only problem would be the wiring, is there a difference between series 1 and 2/3?

any help is appreciated!

Honestly you are better off selling your current car and buying an AU 220 manual. 220kw motors are quite rare for (probably) Sydney's most comprehensive stockist of wrecked Fords. The last 220 motor they sold was for $3000. If you still wish to pursue, I would imagine the physical engine swap won't be a problem, but you'll have to obtain an 220 ECU or find the relevant binary.

Ahaha nah thats cheap man, i earn that in two days..

Do you think it would bemore beneficial just to do some work on the current motor, like cam and heads?

If you want to go quick, the best bang for buck is a raptor charger. The kit cost $5k and that has everything you need to bolt on. Heads and cam won't cost as much, but by the time you include labour, and all the bits and pieces likes gaskets and bolts it really adds up and will cost the same, if not more then the charger.

No, it's fine. You just need a custom tune and upgraded fuel components obviously. I have heard very good things about the raptor s/c's?

If you interested in a 5 speed to suit a v8 AU (extremely rare) then I have one for sale. PM me.

It's all been weighed up before mate. By the time you do a stroker even with standard heads and intake and paying someone to build it for you, it would cost around the same price as a raptor for less power. Yes you can have a cam to "suit" the supercharger, but to buy the cam and pay someone to install will cost at least $1000. That is 1/5 the price of an S/C. Buy the raptor now, then when/if you want more power think about upgrading, heads, intake, cam etc.

Holy f**k a complete running and registered AUIII XR8 is worth less than his asking price.

As the others have said before just chuck a blower on yours, or if you are mechanically minded, the usual N/A mods apply.

I'll put money on its not a 220, its a 200kw motor.... no ticky throttle, this motor has egr block and 65mm throttle

i like the way he states that someone has swapped the throttle for the 65mm, why the $#@$ would someone do that, despite the fact he is pullin his pud regarding price

I'd like to know where i could buy a "5.6L tornado"

I never cease to be amazed at the level of bs some people will go to, another ebay gem

It has the yella terra rockers. 220s had 1.7s I think, the 200s were still the pressed rockers. So from what I can tell I think what he is stating is true. Otherwise he went into a lot of effort to get the dates, builder name and stickers! I don't think anyone would pay that. Buy a whole crate motor!

What's a coyote crate motor worth? I hear around 8k US.

I think this bloke is classic ebay Gypsy material. We should post up an ebay Gypsy hall of fame in off topic.

Wasn't the tornado the designation for the F6 B series utes?

Dunno why my mates 250 pursuit has the ornage injectors and my 200kw pursuit has blue for?? straaange :)
