hi guys

im working on a project, and im after opinions on where is the best spot to put an oil return line on an au sump??

ive marked in red where i think is a good spot in the pic below, just not 100% sure..

thanks...

i would put it there aslong there is nothing behind it, if it is clear you wont get a better spot.

My return is the in the exact spot. Make sure the fitting clears the alternator bracket before drilling a hole.

Its a 45 degree fitting but a 90 degree one will fit too. It will need to be angled backwards a bit though.

The higher the better.. This is behind #2 main..Note clearance from alternator as Dan said..

i finally fitted the return to the sump.

on the subject of oil return..
how well does silicon hose cope with hot oil???
im a little worried about the hose, i dont want it splitting and dumping oil onto the manifold...

That why I used stainless steel flex where heat and chaffing can be an issue...
With short length of silicon hose to join...

Silicon hose is good for over 200 degrees, just dont let it rub on anything.
