Hi can anyone help me with my nf 95 ford fairlane v8 5l it's ping iv done plugs leads and things like that. not petrol im uesing 98 octane now. iv droped the timing down to 26 to 28 still ping not as bad.

now it ping ford not computer timed it now it ping not petrol....

can you rephrase that please cause it doesnt make much sense

Clean MAF wires and reduce timing to around 27-28.

Yep check fuel delivery also..
Check PCV or raise it so less oil is sucked up through inlet..
Oil in combustion chambers promotes detonation...
Also creates small carbon deposits in chambers which glow causing detonation...
Raising PCV higher away from inlet is often enough...
Acts like an oil separator...
