Hey Guys At Fordmods,

Ive had my Ef xr8 now for 8-9months and have done a few things to it like Upgraded brake kit, Swaybars , New suspension etc -
Currently also have duel 2.5" exhaust and extractors-

I'm looking for a bit more oomph i the power department -
I have a few q's about the parts also -
Heres what I'm looking at purchasing :

BBK 70mm TB /EGR
BBK 76mm MAF
Crane HI6-s Ignition Kit
Edelbrock 60379 - Cylinder Heads - Going 1.9 valve size as wont be notching pistons -
Edelbrock 7814 - Timing Chain kit- / Roller master Timing chain kit
ARP/Edelbrock head bolt kit -
Edelbrock 9655 - Hardened Steel Pushrods
Mellings Hi flow oil pump -
Water pump -
Powerbond Harmonic balancer -
Edelbrock RPM 2 Intake -
U/D pulley kit

Firstly wanna ask to make sure these parts will all fit ?
Also what RRs to choose as I'm not sure on cam choice

So far i've narrowed to -
Edelbrock 3722
COMP cams 35-514-8
Trickflow stage 1 TFS-51402000

Also the best gaskets /Kit to use?

Any input would be great as im open to any other options for combos also
I have looked alot into the afr's but price is the only part off putting to me at this stage-

and yes i know i should talk to engine builder for combo but i thought id ask here first -
Car will be used on street and strip with 1/4mile in mind -

Just a couple of quick opinions; the Felpro gaskets are what I would suggest and I believe that your choice of a high flow oil pump would be unnecessary for your build. With your choice of intake manifold I would suggest choosing a cam profile that makes its power in the higher RPM range.

Gotta be honest mate and say that I only have some knowledge of the TFS1. The other two I have never bothered personally researching and RR ratio can depend on the cam choice. There are a few members on here who know a large array of cam profiles due to their experience and knowledge and they may comment on this thread. You could ask XR9UTE as he would be one of the few who knows his hardware and setups. If I hadn't lost my copy of Desktop Dyno, I could have generated a few graphs to satisfy my curiosity as well as yours.

Have a look at XH5LTWEPN build. Jeff knows his 5L's too!

With 1.9 Valves, i would look at 1.6 RR. Reason i say this is to avoid piston to valve clearance. With the cam you are thinking of using, the 1.6 will ensure that the valves dont kiss the pistons. You may get away with 1.7's but you may also need to notch the pistons. I have a set of the Comp Golds in 1.6, and they were good value for money. In regards to you pushrods, you wont be able to order them till the motor is dummy assembled so as to ensure correct length.

With regards the BBK TB. I have had problems in the past with this, as it caused a whistle, but would highly reccomend an Accufab TB.

Good luck and keep us advised.

Brett

Have you thought of just getting the trickflow topend kit? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-K514-360-350/ . Pretty much all there besides the liffters, maf, throttle body and injectors.

Cheers Matt
