I have a V8 supercar engine (heads only raced 1 season - block is new) which I was originally going to transplant into my ED.
But by the time you stuffed around with brake up grade, suspension diff etc it would become a mission in effort & $$$.
Current thought is to drop the engine into a manual BA of some sort.
Gear box will be Tremec 6 speed or I may have a chance getting a Hollinger.
ECU is a Motec M800.
It will be dry sumped.
Is there a difference in sub frame between 6 cyl & 8 cyl?
Is there an issue scrapping BA ECU etc?
Does anyone know of a WA licenced BA/BF suitable for this project. It will be streetable.
Any other thoughts?
Richie.

Is this going to be a street car, or a track-only car?
You will have sfa chances of getting a BA registered with an earlier model engine in it. Plus the SVO block may not even have a (Ford) engine number on it. I doubt an engineer would even want to know about it.
A dry sump system, with external oil tank, etc, will be a big hurdle with an engineer, with oil lines in or under the car, etc.
A Hollinger will be cool, on paper, but will give you the sh!ts real quick on the street.
You would do better to fit this engine, with an appropriate trans, to a track car, or an earlier model so the emissions, etc arent such a headfvck.
Good luck, keep us informed of your progress, pics, etc. 8-)

wait, you've got a v8 supercar motor, tough gearbox and motec ECU, all the stuff for dry sump setup and what ever else is needed to get the most from this, and you're worried about brakes and diff?

put it in an ED, speak to race brakes for some decent 4 spots and get a 9".

Only EF-L shares the same K-member. EB-D have different 6cyl and V8 K-members.
Pretty sure BA have the same alloy crossmember Richie.
You'll need to retain the factory PCM for CAN to work besides the BA PCM will run that engine very well...no need to use motec.
I say shove it in your ED and don't tell anyone.
