I recently acquired the EGR Spacer and Throttle Body (70mm) from what I think is an old 302 Windsor mustang, I've been looking through the forums, and a lot of people are saying the EGR spacer in particular needs to be modified to accommodate the EL's Throttle Cable bracket.

Was curious if anybody has had this done before, if the information is correct, and knew a workshop who'd do the job?

Many thanks guys, it's been a rough weekend of playing mechanic so any help would be fantastic.

If it's an aftermarket spacer then I believe it may need modification, factory ones won't need it; the throttle/cruise cable bracket mounts in the same spot. I don' think ELs had "spacers". I think they all had EGR with the coolant pipes and all and it wasn't AU till there was a spacer without the coolant lines. From the sound of it, what you have is an aftermarket item which may require modification. Exactly what I am not sure without looking at it.

Through a bit more research, it looks like it's a Summit Throttle Body.

- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-227205/?rtype=10 - This one to be specific, so the Throttle cable attachment is backwards, as in the inlet pipe at the top.

and the EGR Plate is:

Both however in the 70mm variety.

So it's pretty obvious now what modifications need to be made, anyone have suggestions as to workshops around Brisbane who'd take on the task?
