Hi all,
I am looking to replace my current car with a manual xr6 late this year, would like and fg but I may end up with a bf. Appart from the normal mods, airbox, exhaust etc I was wondering what sort of mods could be done to it. I was thinking of a nos system for fun. I only know the basics so I was wondering if anyone had a link to a really good website or thread describing nos systems. Ie. Are they legal in vic? How does it work? Do you press a button and empy a tank or can you use it several times? What does it cost to intall and refill and what gains would you expect out of an na xr6? How would it change the way it drives and would it suit the compression? Thanks in advance! Cheers. |

Road legal? varying degree's of "nope" from state to state. But basically it can't be in a functioning state in a car. in NSW you have to disconnect the lines but can leave the bottle in the car. In the ACT you have to pull the bottle out of the car. In VIC its different yet again. |

Great idea if you know what your doing, ive asked about it, you need to run a rich tune without too much timing, and it benefits with a full exhaust and all the normal simple mods

Wet shot with a second nos dedicated fuel system will sort out your mixture tuning issues. Don't know how the timing maps can be setup in B and F series falcons. If you can set them up to dump the timing once a microswitch is activated then its a piece of piss to setup off the stock ecu and get running right.

ive been watching a bloke doing "13s for 1300" on youtube and its a bit of a competition where you buy a car for cheap as posible and make it run 13 second passes for $1300 or less, hes got an el falcon, hes taken all the interior out and all the sound deadening crap and hes got extractors with a short 2.5 inch pipe and hi flow muffler, no cat, home made air scoop for the intake with no filter and nos, his nos kit had 2 solenoids 1 to run a petrol sprayer and the other for nos at the same time into the throttle body, so im guessing thatd make up for the extra petrol you need and the bigger shot of nos you use the bigger shot of petrol you have?

Go to the link above i added and read up on how it works. The 2 solonoid you speak of is a wet system, and is only a stand alone fuel set up if it has its own pump and tank, but you can tap into fuel from the schreader valve on the V8 windsors, or as i did and get a 6 port reg and run it off there. A dry setup relies on the factory fuel system for the added fuel and increases the amount of fuel added by bumping up the reg pressure on the factory reg. The dry set up will only have one solonoid. Hope that helps a little.
