I can't seem to get onto,

facebook, ebay and a few other random sites... it display's text only on the left side of the page any idea.

Install mozilla firefox.

or

restore explorer to defaults.

It does it in Firefox occasionally as well.

I'm pretty techy but I can make this real easy, so don't be discouraged, it isn't that hard to fix.

Assuming you are running Mozilla Firefox, you should update both your Flash Player plugin and (if you are running a Microsoft Windows distribution) update your JRE (Java runtime environment).

Here are a couple things that will help you out:

Link to download and install Adobe Flash Player plugin for Firefox: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

and

Link to update your JRE: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Note that the JRE may not need to be updated as it usually updates automatically in Microsoft Windows so you shouldn't need it, but on rare occasions it happens, so update Flash Player first then if you are still getting text only then install the JRE.
