The water run on the bottom of the manifold untill it hits the back of the plenum, then shoots up number 6 runner. When I was a first year apprentice, it was my first ever engine rebuild, Falcon ute drove through water and bent number 6. (the utes still had the log manifold at that point.)

Watching this one with interest, I just happen to have one of these engines in my wagon. Hoping to find out what is needed to put an XR6 cam and 300kpa reg on mine in the future.....

Cheers RD There is a Hybrid specific XR cam. the 300kpa reg is not a specific part and could be sourced from a regular engine or bought new.

racedirector wrote: Thanks matey I was actually hoping to use the "standard" XR6 cam I already have by, if possible, changing the springs, cam and rockers to standard ones. I also already have the fuel reg, this damn hybrid thing is just getting in my way...... Cheers RD The conical springs from the Hybrid are better then the old style parallel springs. To use the pre hybrid cam would only mean swapping the rocker gear.

Quote: Con Rod Nuts & Bolts (WR2A stamped on bolt) – torque to yield Hmmm... wonder if this is wildly known.

As by rights they should be replaced if they are ever loosened off. Which then according to good engine building practice the big ends should be closed and honed when the new bolts are fitted. Probably cheaper to just buy a new set of rods.

the pressure from the valve springs hold it in place. you could almost say its a floating cam..
