Hey guys just wondering if blow off valves wear out.I've still got the original plastic one that came with my blower from Cappa had it for around 4 years.
Ok so when my car is cool it's got all the hp it's ment to but after around 30mins plus it just seems to be lacking,it's also down on boost by about 5 or so psi.
Any help would be good

It's possible. Bov's have springs inside them. Heat can fatigue them. Good way to test it is get it warm and get it to fault then remove blow off valve and put a blanking plug where the hole is the. Take it for a drive and if it's fixed then youve found your problem.

Yep, this is a way to test it but if it is not the blow off valve which I highly doubt, I reckon you could have some blow by and as your oil heats up and loses it's viscosity/sealing ability you're also losing a little compression/boost

Doesn't plastic expand with heat? I heard that the Bosch bypass valves (assuming you have that one) are ok for a time and cheap to buy, but you are better off replacing it over time to make sure you still have a good seal under boost.

My setup is different to turbo, but I swapped the Bosch bypass valve for a dual port Turbosmart unit and found its worked well under high heat and stressful conditions.

I hate plastic with a passion, as anyone who knows me will agree. Get an ally BOV. At least if it doesnt turn out to be the problem, you wont have to worry about it again......
