Im not sure why new mounts etc would be required. But yes - the demister is the issue.

EB/D dash's have poor moulding (for adding the demister). EF/L dash's have circular ducting which appears much easier to reshape to provide the space. I am hoping to use EF/L Air Ducting on an EB Dash, on an XF

The demister actuator is different also.
E series have an option of windscreen and feet concurrently - X series have either feet or windscreen.

If you're fitting EF/EL climate control (which uses the ECU data bus), there are a few issues, easy enough to sort out - not so easy when I first attempted it, as I had to diagnose where the problems were:
-Evaporator Inlet temp sensor causing E6 errors
-Blend door motor (as mentioned) location
-cooling issues with XH ECU
-Sunload sensor location
Read viewtopic.php?t=31543 for solutions.
The vacuum solenoid location should be okay since an EF/EL dash is being fitted in this instance.
