Hello,

I would like to replace my sticky to touch steering wheel. I found a good steering wheel at a wrecker problem is it has a security bolt T30.

I thought I had the right tool for it but apparently not. I dont want to use a flat blade screwdriver and hammer to remove it.

Anyone know where I can get such a tool from. I'm, lead to believe its a five pointed star driver with a hollow centre.

Any assistance would be welcome

SWC,

Thanks mate but I've tried those companies previously.

I tried Bunnngs, Supercheap, Autopro, Autobahn, and they dont stock them, its apparently a specialised tool made for Ford.

All tools I've seen are 6 sided star TOR50, the one I need is 5 sided star TOR50

Cheers

Troyman,

Yeah, thats the one,

I dont have a cordless drill, only mains powered drill.

67RCE,

Not many good toolshops on the southside of Brisbane these days. Just spent $10.00 on a KingChrome 16mm socket today..The price of those tools might have risen since then.

Thanks for the additonal tip.

I managed to find a compnay called "Trade Tools", and purchased a Five Point Security Bit Set which contains T27 and T30. Good investment, only $15.00.

Saved me the hassle of using hammer and screwdriver and not damaging anything associated with the steering wheel in case another person is looking / scaveging for parts.

Cheers, Bondy

I am sure that most tool places you can purchase the single item for around the $6 mark the step-dad brought one from Repco previously.

Froudey, No worries now, I accidently had one bit drop inside the steering wheel recess, luckily I had the other bit, 27T which fit like a glove. Took steering wheel off and found the T30 bit.

The whole set was cheap at $15.00 Toledo brand.

I approached Repco earlier but they did not have the item.
