Hello all again!

I have just purchased a Series 2 AU XR8 220.

I am curious to what gearbox these came out with? It's a manual T5 but i am not sure if its a Tremec box or the older Borg Warner style box.

Any info would be great!

Cheers!

They are the Borg Warner T5, with Tremec parts.

I see, how does that make sense? Borg Warner was working with tremec to make a combined box? What parts are tremec and what parts are Borg Warner?

Cheers.

Tremec branded case. Because IIRC, Tremec purchased Borg Warner.

Ah I see... Did they ever get to a stage in the AU model where it was a tremec box only?

I was reading earlier and apparently some au models came with either box and the Borg Warner had a shorter final drive.

Not sure if any of this is true.

T5Z.

Shorter gears, and can handle more power than a T5.

I had to rebuild mine when I bought it.
