This is the one I got and as soon as I am able to get under the dash and figure out a place to put it, I will install. I am going to make up my OWN wiring harness as I seem to have the knack for that. I don't use scotch locks but use proper terminals and terminal blocks, much easier to disconnect.

Under the dash? Your not going to boot install it mate? A bit unique.
What I do with mine is solder all the way. Strong connection and reliable. The only time I use connections is for terminals on speakers and amp speaker wire inputs ( not the sub due to thick speaker wire used). I also spend a huge amount of time making the speakers, deck, sub and amps put in with the most difficult methods, that way if someone pinches the car it will take them forever to remove them, so if they try and pinch the system on the side of the road it will take too long but if they take the whole car Im sure they will work it out.
Good choice on the Sony, they are not mind blowing sound quality but very reliable. Ive used a few sets of Sony speakers in the past and have been impressed with the " bang for buck". Ive got a set of Sony 6x9's in the back of the Mq that can handle 100w rms ( and have been given just that from day one) and they have lasted 3 years now with no drama's. Another good set is the Sony XS-F1727se 6.5" shallow mounts. I paid $25 for a set off ryda.com about 12 months ago and had them in the front of the Ef for a while. Rated at 40w rms, they handle a fair bit of power and are quite clear as a mid to high range speaker.... Of course leaving the rears and sub to handle more bass. Only reason I changed them was for a set of Pioneer 50w rms dual cone's to compensate the high end silk dome 1" tweeters I used to replace the factory ones. With those sSony 6.5", all I did was run some underlay behind the speakers ( attached to the inner wall of the doors) to create a somewhat enclosure behind the speakers. Sounded nice.

Today I had the Exhaust fixed by Hume Mufflers. The bloke was great (Chris?) and had it all fixed in an hour, he also changed the Cat from the standard one that the original owner had used, to the NEW SS 2.5" Outlaw. No pics sorry

I saw in Liverpool today an AU XR8 series 1.5 and it had a very unusual body kit on it. I have not seen one like this before but it sure intrigued me...


Has anyone else seen this before? I couldn't tell if it was plastic parts or Fibreglass..

Thats the series 2 tickford body kit..except the front lip looks aftermarket.
A mate of mine picked up a series 2 xr6 on saturday that has the same body kit.
Its vixon red and is local to us george.. its immaculate you will know it if you see it..

Good, I will have to keep an eye out. I guess it looks strange because it hasn't got those silly pod things on the back door and the rear bar is so much different to yours, it is like a BA rear bar as you can see where the lower part is joined. It was good looking and if the car were detailed it would look even nicer.

I was thrown with it, I only remember seeing the AU III new and sold body kits for them but never actually got to see them except in a big box.

I've got one of the S2 rear bar lips at home. It's the same setup as on Dons Ghia.

That lip on the front bar looks like the one on my series1 xr8, actually I don't mind that look.. might be something to look at.
