Been gone for a while, but figured I'd drop in and post an update.
I've been fairly busy but considering the time gap not so much.

First things first, I ditched the BA seats. I did get them in, made some brackets, but in the end it was just more effort than it was worth. So I'm just going to retrim some AU stuff to suit my needs.

That being said I did do one rather large interior update:

Kicker 15s. Still have to replace my front speakers to get the most out of them though.

I got my side skirts on (finally) Had to pull the tub off to achieve that.

But was happy with the results

Then I threw on some mesh and wheels, just 'cause I could.

Then some more body work and a tail light upgrade (went to three colour, and fibreglassed the reverse light hole in the rear bar) Was actually pretty easy, no mounting issues, just wiring.

And then some paint

That's not the final coat of paint, still want to give it another coat or so before putting clear on it.

I'm also now the proud owner of a V8 fairmont Ghia (AU Sedan) which I intend to butcher.
I'm only really interested in the engine, so once I've ripped that out I'll part the rest of it away.

Haha, thanks mate.

Got a few things that I need to sort out atm, and not a ton of time but I'm hoping to start the wheels turning on the V8 conversion when I get some time off over christmas.

But before that I've got to get myself a daily :D

Been a quiet few months, been working mostly but I tried to get a bit done over christmas. Firstly, here's how the old girl was looking before I started ripping her apart again:

I bought myself a nice donor car to bump my V8 project forward:

And proceeded to rip her apart....

What was left of the car once I was done:

Then I moved onto prepping my car for the new engine:

The V8 isn't in as I ran out of time before having to go back to work, had some hold ups in regards to Diff and flywheel bolts, but I'll sort those. Right now I'm considering whether to put some work into the V8 before it goes in (seeing as I won't have the time to put it in for a while) or not.

I also picked up a manual box for the 8 as the donor car was an auto. Most of the wiring seems pretty straightforward, but I won't really find out 'till I actually get the 8 in. Plus I've stolen the ABS and traction control as well.

The paint still isn't finished D:, still needs clear but I decided that the green pearl was too overpowering so I've toned it down a bit and will respray in the new colour (which I had to do before clear anyways.. though I have no idea when I'll get the time for that)

Also chasing foglights for the front bar, still. Found some that should do the trick but trying to find out if they come with brackets or not as I CBF making my own to mount them.

All in all it's living up to the time consuming money pit of a title that is project car... :D

You've been busy while I've been away, nice work on the conversion/paint/interior etc...

What's the plan for the interior of the ute, is it getting all the sedan gear? Or keeping it xr in the interior?

Swapped across the chrome door handles but that's about it.
I don't like leather, personally... or electric seats for that matter.
I'll eventually do a custom interior job but that can wait til I finish the engine work.

awesome yet mate, that front bar looks tough has, a ba bonnet bulge would of finished it off, if misses had her own car (AU Sedan most likely), I would so swap the AU Wagon for a Ute like this for myself...

I don't think the bonnet bulge will suit the look I'm going for, tbh. I like the smooth kind of roundness the front end has with the stock bonnet.
That being said, I also own a BA XR6t which I plan to put a bonnet with the bulge on, so we'll see how that pans out for me.
Finish the ute first though.
