Crate Motor as in ?????????

Windsor, Cleveland, Cyotee?

EA Never came with the V8 so engineering may be an issue these days. better to Use an EB/ED. Carby will also not get you passed with engineering either.

Carb or EFI is irrelevant...you need to get a V8 K-member from an EB-D V8 or switch to an EF-L K-member 6 or 8 doesn't matter.

Probably a Windsor crate motor but if I find something else cheaper prob go with that. Not planning on rego just a random project. My ea is just sitting doing nothing and just wanted to know whether you can just jam one in. Also with converting k frame would I have to do anything with the steering rack or anything like that as well? I am gathering doing this type of conversion could be expensive but so are turbos so I'm thinking why not.

And thanks for the replys guys.

Get hold of a wrecked EF/L and use the whole front suspension/k-member and use the rack too. Then get the EF/L V8 mounts. This would be the best easiest way to go for a bolt in fit.
You could also weld V8 mounts onto the original 6cyl k-member but it's not the way I'd do it.
There's no such thing as a cheap crate engine...if it's cheap it's likely rubbish.

Ok thank you a lot and hopefully I've got a EL lined up. That is just a heap but front end looks good. And I've found a few complete crate motors around 4000 for a reconditioned 302.

Thank your for your help.
