Hi guys. I've just done the conversion using a 'Mal wood clutch pedal pin', and I used a 5 speed manual ECU.
I'm wondering how you stop the pedal from floping around????
The manual pedal box has a bar and switch it sits against, and the auto pedal box has nothing there, so the pedal flops up and hits the under-side of the dash ............ and it's pi$$ing me off. I really don't want to have to weld a bit of metal in under there on the pedal box so the pedal hits it, (EG - XD, XE, XF types of pedal arresters.)

I've always been a 'carbie' fan (XP-XF), and I'm just getting into the EFI's and what's different to the earlier fords. Oh I miss my old cars !!! To me, my Mk-1 Escort and my XD wagon and XF wagon are my type of car (5 speed manual conversions done to the XD and XF).

Any help greatly appreciated, and thanks for all the great help.

there is supposed to be a spring that goes from the clutch pedal to the firewall to keep slack out of the cable and that will also stop the pedal from coming up to far..

Just wondering if someone can help with a bit of knowledge.

I've got the 5 speed in, and it's all hooked up and running. Somewhere in the wiring is a neutral safety switch bypass wire. Even in gear, or even with the gearbox loom removed, the EB still starts. I'm putting in a remote starter and want the neutral safety switch working, so am trying to find where the bypass wire is. I've checked the repair manual wiring diagram, and it says it's in there somewhere, but doesn't say where it is placed.

Help greatly appreciated.

I don't think the manuals had a "safety switch" they have a neutral switch to tell the ecu if its in gear or not, but my factory manual I could always start in gear. you could always bridge into that switch (LHS front of box I think) so it works as a safety switch

that is correct, its not a "safety switch" its just for the ecu to determine if its in gear or not...

Ok, no worries. I called it a 'safety switch' as they had them to stop idiots starting their cars in gear, and on all the T5 conversions I've done to older fords, the neutral starter switch is hooked up on all of them. But, .... as I said earlier, I haven't dealt with the EFI's much, so if they don't have one ..... I'll add one into the loom myself I think.

Thank you for your knowledge guys. It's helped heaps.
