Got the AU Console out of the wreck today. had a quick look, and looks like it should fit without too much of a headache (Knock on wood!). also grabbed the airbox while i was there, but i don't think that's gonna work without some serious chopping and changing, and is it really worth it?

Well so far, so good. While the wife wasn't looking, I went out and did a trial fit of the AU Console to see how it would go. Didn't work, so I took the Air tubes for the rear vents out, and whadda ya know, it fitted in!
 Now, ATM no rear vents is not a major issue, but it is something I will be sorting out down the track. The console isn't a straight bolt in job. I will have to do a little trimming, and sort out a gearstick boot, and get the mount points sorted as well, but it looks like it will be a bit easier than I thought! While I was at it, I had a look at the rails on the AU Seats, and yup, they don't match!  Oh Well, will remove the passengers seat when I get the chance, and see if I can make it work by swapping the runners. Hey, the only reason i'm using AU Bit's is I've got the wreck I can rip whatever I want out of!

That's what gave me the idea for the AU Motor install!
after having a quick read and realising it's not that hard!

You can take the AU front seat back and bottom off their rails and bolt them to the E series rails.
i had AU seats in my E series for ages. |

Big Up's to SWC. Ya gave me some good advice, and a lot to think about! I'll have to get down there soon to catch up and all that, even if I have to bring the car we do not mention! LOL

I think there are 4 bolts that hold the seat back to the frame.. And another 4 bolts to hold the bottom to the frame.. Undo the 8 bolts and your seats should be in 3 pieces.. Back, base and frame. Do that to both the e series and a series seats and then swap the a series back and base onto the eseries frame and put the 8 bolts back in. Easy as... |

Cool Cool, I gotcha! I was looking at it and wondering if there was a way to remove the rails without doing that. I'll give that a go then!
