hey just wondering if any one has some good tips or tricks to make the coolant fill container look like new

I read from other forum that coffee grounds can really help clean the inside of the coolant reservoir, though never tried it yet.

Just undo the hoses and the 3 or 4 screws, take it out, and shove the nozzle up there. Putting sand/gravel in will obviously get more stuff out but you'd wanna be real careful to get it all out before plumbing it back in.

I used rice for mine, block off all the holes, put a cup or two of rice in, fill with degreaser and shake the sh*t out of it.

Despite the satisfaction you get from cleaning the old one up a bit more...put it next to a brand new one and you'll be a sad panda.

+1 for a new one - these cars are getting on and so if one has lasted 20 years...investing in a new unit should not be a question of if, but when :)
