Would anyone know if the au vct motor requires a vernier cam gear when installing a new cam because every cam gear that I've looked at days not suitable for vct. I'm guessing this is because it would essentially get rid of the vct. Is this correct?

Disable the VCT, and run a non VCT AU cam, I believe there are bits needed to be removed but not sure, has been covered many times though,

As to your question about Vernier Gears, depends on the cam, speak to your cam provider, but wouldn't hurt so you can dial it in properly, (Because timing chains stretch, guides wear, you know how it goes)

Search is your friend,
Type what you wish to know into Google and throw "Fordmods" on the end, works a treat everytime :)

Thanks for the reply mate, i want to keep the vct though. After some extensive searches it turns out that you dont need one so all is good.
