HI,
My XH2 XR8 Ute has been sitting in the garage for a couple of years while i work away, and now i have started driving it again i have a problem where the dash lights and park/ tail lights will not come on initially when switched on but will come on after maybe a couple of K's down the road. It does seem to be getting longer before they come on, this morning it was about 10 K's down the motorway before they lit up. I have checked the light switch and fuses etc.
Any ideas where to look for dodgy connections?
If someone can post a wiring diagram that would be great.
Cheers!

I have a factory XH manual. I should be able to scan a wiring diagram and email to you? Need an email addy though. I would check first the plugs that go to the RHS engine bay loom, unplug, check, plug back in and test. They are painful to get to.

Thanks for the reply frog.
I have checked most plugs and fuses, but i will recheck.
If you could scan and send to wmb360@live.com that would be great thanks.
Where did you buy your manual from?
Cheers

Hello,

It may be worth changing the relay. The contacts may have corroded, a cheap thing to start with that may fix it.

Bought the manuals from a bloke on a Facebook forum. Bought a few different manuals and paid a lot for them but they are better than Ellery and Haynes. I'll try remember to scan them at work tomorrow night.

Hello,

My Gregory's covers the XH and shows the Relay in the Circuit, but not where it is. Relays are under the bonnet, and the Dash. Have a look and see if it is marked, or someone may post who can tell you. It is a good place to start, as you can see if you have power, and the signal from the switch. Or just the relay as the fault. The owners manual would be worth a look. I have also in the past found mistakes in Gregory's wiring diagrams.

Sent you 7 scans relating to headlights. Let us know what you find and if you need anymore.
