Hi folks, I have just replaced my oil pressure sender, and I thought I might let ppl know how to do it, as I have seen some posts asking "how to do it"

Firstly, know that this works with both the switch ( no gauge) and the sender ( gauge)

Arm yourself with:

# 1 1/16" OR 27mm DEEP socket
# new sender/switch
# short extension
# ratchet (long or short, I used short)
# Oil filter ( or use your old one if you are not fussy)
#oil pan to catch dribbles
# some oil.
# jack stands
#garage jack (if you don't have a hoist)

NOTE: do this when engine is cool

1: jack the front of the car up and place stands to support it.DO NOT WORK UNDER THE CAR WITHOUT USING STANDS BLOODY DANGEROUS

2: working from under the car: remove oil filter

3: using the socket you sourced, and a short extension, unscrew the sender/switch.

4: screw in new switch/sender

5: replace oil filter

6: run engine and check for correct operation of switch

7: run engine and check for leaks

8: If all good, remove stands and lower car.

9: Check oil level and add oil if required

10: tidy up and drive away....................

Total time: 45 mins if quick, but if you are like me 60 mins 8-)

Cost: $35 for sender and $19 for socket: cheap :D
